with her jams
by grandma

no mistakes here
me and work clothes
in the swimming pool

dreamless
cracks of sunrise
stab my eyes

Sun shine road
crows
peck the kills

half shells
worrying the bull-ants
off their nest

our sweet walk past
a twilight breeze
through the ripe peach tree

from the bird bath
up-side down
a fruit bat

the morning star
in our bird bath
still bright

first morning
her big school’s
lunch box in hand
