old fig tree

peaches on her tree
anticipated
grandma’s pie

river breezes
drawing the willows
on Laurel’s face

mirrored
canoeing
the willow trees

holiday house
our last few streets
of moonglow

sounds of a tide
lapping the rock pools
then merging them

boarding school
I try on
my father’s face

by noon
the tide takes back
the kid’s rock pools

bed of stones
a quickening flash
of rainbow trout
