pelicans descend-
to the ebbs of the sea
old men- searching

velvet sea
acres of moonlight
fill up the waves

he finds most…
spilled on the beach
a dozen fish hooks

salt breeze
a gull dive adds
its sound to the sea

immense starlight
my Zodiac turns
forgetting me

salt breeze
a gull lifts from
the sounds of the sea

at the beach tonight
feeling the seconds in waves
as they come to pass

the bay tides
the clouds leave
one more driftwood

clouds lift…
