Dawn spreads …
a boat leaving the harbour
to gull cries.

The blue Aegean
about twenty yachts
becalmed at sea.

Moonlit whales
her newborn following
their ancient journey.

Deserted yacht
the slapping whispers
of her torn sails.

Tropic isle
a crow’s-nest falling
from the horizon.

Tropic sun
the thieving gull
lives tomorrow.

Our bathing lounge chairs
burned by the sun…
Caribbean cruise.

In the soft beds
of Aegean waves
ship bones.

Dusk
among leaping dolphins
the swish of our sails.

Tourists
captured by the whale
looking back.
