cool around us

town shadows

crow’s nesting
the scatter of wreaths
around her headstone

one kid
after the other’s laugh
mushroom search

lavender field
opening the scissors
from my backpack

cabbage moth
an ant trail of parts
through the garden

limp
in mummy’s arms
their long drive home

morning jog
every corner turning
to autumn Suns

snow ball fight
her giggles
in dusk light

a record drought
the Gum trees weeping
with their stress
