Hot sultry morning
the naked peach tree
pregnant with buds.

Moon clouds
moving with the rustle
of the harvest corn.

And so ! tucked into bed
she asks for the story
her kitten likes too.

House open
the realtor’s soft sell
in the bedroom’s silence.

Red lights
waiting to pass
the polished hearse.

Art class
the sound as students
paint outside of it.

Red-breast Robin!!
the black cat is inside
your shadows.

Mountain eaglet
it dawns on her
this urge to fly.

Mountain stream
how visible the brightness
you crossed on stones.

Rain all day
nothing for her
but the romance novel.
